Studies illustrate an increasing phenomenon, which has become a political object in its own right. The coronavirus crisis has accentuated existing fragilities of those for whom family and friendship ties are disappearing.

The survey work undertaken by the French association Les Petits Frères des Pauvres has been a true wake up call this year. A burst is possible, and it will necessarily be collective.
